FAQs

What is the best time of year to take this tour?
This tour is available year-round. Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) offer the most comfortable weather for exploring Morocco's diverse landscapes. Summer is hotter, especially in the desert, but accommodations and transport are air-conditioned. Winter can be chilly in the mountains and desert nights, so be prepared with warm clothing.
How much luggage can I bring?
We recommend packing lightly, as you will travel through various terrains and transfer between accommodations. A small or medium-sized suitcase, along with a daypack or backpack, is ideal. Luggage can be stored safely at accommodations during overnight stays.
Is the camel trek in Merzouga suitable for everyone?
The camel trek is suitable for most people, including beginners. It lasts about an hour to reach the camp, and the pace is gentle. If you have back problems or difficulty with balance, alternative transportation (such as a 4x4 vehicle) can be arranged to reach the desert camp.
What should I wear for this tour?
Morocco has a mix of temperatures and cultural expectations. We recommend light, breathable clothing for daytime and warm layers for evenings, especially in the desert and mountain regions. Modest clothing is appreciated in cities, especially in areas around religious sites. For the desert, bring a scarf or hat to protect from sun and sand.
Are meals included?
Breakfasts are included each day of the tour, with a traditional Berber dinner at the Merzouga desert camp and Boumalen Dades. Lunches are not included, allowing you the freedom to explore local restaurants and try a variety of Moroccan dishes along the way.
Are accommodations shared or private?
All accommodations are private for your group or travel party. You will stay in traditional riads, hotels, and a luxury desert camp in Merzouga, providing a unique and comfortable Moroccan experience.
How physically demanding is the tour?
This tour is moderately active, with some walking involved, particularly in Fez, Chefchaouen, and the medinas. The camel trek in Merzouga is easy-paced but requires mounting and dismounting. If you prefer alternative transport to the desert camp, please inform us in advance.
Do I need a visa for Morocco?
Travelers from many countries can enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. However, requirements vary, so please check with your local Moroccan consulate to confirm.
Is travel insurance required?
While travel insurance is not required, it is highly recommended. Comprehensive travel insurance can cover unexpected events like trip cancellations, medical expenses, and loss of belongings.
Can I customize this tour?
Yes, this tour is customizable. If you’d like to adjust the itinerary, add or remove activities, or extend your stay in any of the cities, please let us know when booking. We’re happy to tailor the experience to your preferences.
